About this site...

Although this is written with information garnered from my own personal 11-year walk as an amputee, and probably favours the ladies, there should still be a lot of information that other disabled people can take away from this site. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoyed putting it together. If you have any stories you'd like to share, or favourite links of your own, please drop me a line and we'll slap them up on this site.

This isn't the place for hard-assed dev's (you know who you are) or gimp gawkers. There are tons of content-appropriate web sites for that. Please visit respectfully.

Please refresh your browser quickly, we update regularly.

Why I started this site ....

This site was started after a frustrating and fruitless search for some place where South African amputees could go for friendship and advice. I'm afraid South Africa really showed her '3rd world' label on this one. There is nothing here for us. But apart from that, the amount of information that is NOT given to new amputees world-wide is absolutely appalling. If I look back at my own history, I could have gotten back into the mainstream of life a lot quicker had I been armed (or is that 'legged'?) with the right advice.

So here I am. This site is dedicated to all the disabled people of the world, but especially my fellow PWD's in South Africa.

Your contributions gratefully accepted...

Erm, that would be from your brain, not your pocket! If you have any stories of your own, drop me mail. Unfortunately no e-mails with attachments can be accepted, only straight text. There is a wealth of knowledge out there which is held by disabled peoples all over the world. It's stuff that newbies (and us oldies) need to hear for us to develop and enhance our coping mechanism skills. It's the information that 'they' don't put in the manual. You know what I'm talking about...the "if only I knew before" stuff... And please stop by my Guest Book on your way out, I would love to hear from you. Come back and say hello again soon!
